Al-Thamal Medical Center was established in its two branches in Abha and Khamis Mushayt in 2004. It is the largest clinic complex in the region. It is also the first medical center in the Asir region to obtain a one-day surgery license. It also includes integrated clinics in many distinguished and accurate medical specialties under the supervision of a group of Saudi and non-Saudi consultant doctors and specialists with scientific competence and high practical experience.

In December 2023, Al-Themal Medical Center in Khamis Mushayt obtained the accreditation of the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of healthcare institutions (CBAHI) as the first day case surgery center to obtain accreditation in Asir.
